Motorcycles are becoming a popular alternative to motor cars as a form of transportation and recreation vehicle by virtue of it being less expensive to purchase and maintain. Thus it is necessary to install alarms on them to prevent theft as they are often parked in open area car-parks and left unattended for an extended period of time.

SecureRus is marketing MC-8(Y) motorcycle alarm which is developed jointly by Securitex Electronics Systems Engineering (Singapore) and Hugh Technology Co (Taiwan) for the motorcycle mass market. The product is a wireless alarm system similar to those in motor cars with 2 enhancements i.e. motorcycle finder and remote start.

Features of the alarm

• 4 buttons extended range radio frequency remote control.
• 10 seconds siren duration when the alarm is triggered and with a mute option to prevent noise pollution.
• Arming or disarming confirmation by sound (chirps) or by light (flashes)
• Built in EPROM to prevent alarm codes from lost during total battery power loss.
• Factory pre-coded transmitter ( to prevent duplication )
• False alarm free piezo blade sensor.
• High power single tone siren.
• Instant tampered trigger.
• Low voltage detector (L.V.D) “reset circuit”.
• Remote adjustable 8 stages of shock sensor.
• State-of-art electronic processor built for reliability
• Fully water resistant remote transmitter.
• Remote engine start function.
• Bike Finder function.

  
Contents of the system package:

1. 1 unit of main microprocessor controller (MC8).
2. 2 units of 4button function remote transmitter with a keychain attached.
3. 1 unit of high power single tone siren.
4. 2 sets of system cable and connector for connecting to the motorcycle’s electrical system.
5. 2 pieces of stick on “Velcro” (to mount the controller to the motorcycle’s chassis)
6. Instruction, installation and programmed manual.

The Motorcycle Alarm system is sold as a D-I-Y kit. Arrangements can be made with some local motorcycle servicing outlets to install the system at the end-user’s cost.
